Safety Tips

Practical guidance to help you trade safely within your trusted communities.

1. Our Commitment to Your Safety

At TRUZH, your security is our top priority. We combine automated monitoring, expert moderation, and clear user guidelines to protect you from fraud, misuse, and unsafe behavior.

If you ever see something suspicious, please report it immediately — we’ll take swift action.

2. Identifying Suspicious Behavior & Avoiding Scams

Do not share your credentials or sensitive financial data, and avoid clicking suspicious links. Keep conversations and transactions within TRUZH.

  • Requests for personal contact information (phone number/private email) before using in-app chat
  • Links leading outside TRUZH, especially for payment, verification, or deals
  • Unrealistic offers or prices that seem too good to be true
  • Brand-new users with no history or ratings
  • Requests to pay outside the platform (e.g., bank transfer outside TRUZH)
  • Urgent pressure, suspicious wording, or impersonation of TRUZH staff

3. Safe In‑Person Transactions

  • Confirm item condition, price, and meeting details in-app before meeting
  • Choose public, well-lit places (cafés, campus common areas, library lobbies)
  • Avoid secluded spots or private homes
  • Bring a companion for high-value items, if possible
  • Inspect items thoroughly before purchasing (wear, function, authenticity)
  • Prefer in-app payment; if paying cash, confirm suitability first

4. Protecting and Using Account Credentials Securely

  • Use a strong, unique password (8+ characters with letters, numbers, symbols)
  • Consider a password manager
  • If you suspect compromise, change your password immediately
  • Keep your email address up to date for alerts and verification codes
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) when available

5. Secure Payments and Financial Safety

  • Use the integrated payment system when available (it offers protections)
  • Never provide bank or card details via email or chat
  • Do not click payment links sent outside of TRUZH
  • For cash exchanges, inspect the item before paying

6. Reporting Suspicious Activity

  • Report suspicious users/listings directly in TRUZH
  • Block users to prevent further contact
  • For urgent threats or fraud, contact local authorities and inform TRUZH support

7. Best Practices for Listing Items

  • Use clear, well-lit photos (multiple angles, close-ups, detail shots)
  • Write accurate titles and descriptions, including flaws
  • Keep listings up to date (sold/reserved/withdrawn)
  • Avoid exaggerated claims about condition or functionality
  • Encourage questions — transparency builds trust

8. Community Conduct & Moderation Standards

Violations may result in content removal, warnings, or suspension.

  • Communicate politely and respectfully
  • Avoid harassment, hate speech, or profanity
  • Keep transactions within TRUZH
  • Avoid spammy behavior (mass messaging/irrelevant advertising)

9. What to Do If You’re a Victim

  • Report the incident as soon as possible within TRUZH
  • Provide evidence (transaction IDs, screenshots, conversation logs)
  • Our Safety & Support team may mediate or intervene
  • For serious concerns (financial loss, threats), contact law enforcement

  • • Stay within TRUZH for messaging, payments, and deals.
  • • Keep personal data private and protect your credentials.
  • • Meet in safe places and inspect items before paying.
